…from glory to glory

A House of Prayer…

… for such a time as this…

…Jesus the Anointed One

(The Gospel Project for Kids – Fall 2017 Quarter)

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn…”

Isaiah 61.1-2; (Luke 4.18)

Bible Passage: Matthew 21.12-17; Mark 11.15-19

The House of God was given to the people as a holy place where they could pray to God and learn His Word…

The place of prayer for the people from all the nations was being used for  buying and selling instead of what God meant for that place to be…

Jesus drove out all the people who had brought into that holy place things which never belonged there…

Jesus was anointed by God’s Spirit to make God’s holy presence known in that place…

God anointed Jesus to save His people from their sins and to reign as King over all of God’s creation…

Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body…Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ?…Flee sexual immorality…He who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body…Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

–from 1 Corinthians 6.13-20

Jesus was anointed by God to cleanse us from everything which does not belong in us–everything which corrupts the glorious purpose of our created bodies. Jesus was anointed by God to be The Way for all who believe in His atoning work to become and to belong to a redeemed and sanctified house of prayer–a people of prayer, lifting up holy hands, undefiled by the corruption of the world’s hostility to His sovereignty and glory…

If you belong to Christ Jesus, don’t make your living temple a “den of thieves…”
