from glory to glory…

Morning Glory…

morning-skies

Rising feeling a bit better  today; thanking God for relief from my ailments…Reflecting on how marvelous God’s Word truly is…it wasn’t written yesterday…it is written to record the Truth of the LORD of hosts in all His manifold glory, through the ages of what is before, to the ages to come…it is preserved in Truth and clarity and substance to endure wars, destructions, and “environmental change” for all who have come after those who documented the testimony of His glory in their moment in eternity…

Here is a link to view the passages of this morning’s adventure into timeless glory: Scripture Passages in NKJV

On this link, you may also find a menu from which to choose alternate translations…

I have included Matthew 1.1-17 because I have been meditating on this all week, alongside the passages in the Daily Office. It gives a panoramic view of God’s faithful protection of His purposes to establish His Son Jesus as recognized King of all kings and LORD of all…

Through the line of David…seeing the ancestry of Messiah Jesus unfold in the lives of Boaz and Ruth…in that field in Bethlehem in Ephratah which became the birthplace of David and the Messiah Jesus…the field which became the place  of the Tower of the Flock, the compound where lambs were birthed, raised, protected and prepared as perfect sacrifices for the reconciliation of sinners to God in the Temple…

Watching over David’s life in exile, hunted like a dog by those whose agenda is bent on their own exaltation; haters of God’s clear purpose to fulfill His promise to establish the throne of David…His prayers, even in his moment of persecution, were prayers giving His life to God’s purpose, trusting God to vanquish the enemies of His plan…realizing that his own life was wrapped up in that eternal purpose…

Fulfilling the Lineage of Faith and Promise: from Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah… Salmon… Boaz… Obed… Jesse…  David… Solomon… Uzziah… Josiah… Jeconiah… Zerubbabel… Jacob… Joseph… Jesus!

And onward into the generations of Faith and Promise in Christ Jesus…generations in whom His glory is appearing and being written, even in our moment of eternity…from glory to glory…

As I read the hard sayings of Jesus in Matthew 5.38-48 about loving my enemies, I remember that David had a couple of opportunities in his lap to do away with King Saul and his rangers–but instead, he refused to harm them. When David was slurred and cursed by one of his own people, he bore it instead of retaliating in indignation and violence…He remembered that his life was bound up in the purposes of the Holy One of Israel who sanctifies rebels to Himself and purposes to transform them into sons of glory for an inheritance for His Son Jesus…So, although my prayers for my enemies may echo David’s, they can only be like David’s and obedient to Christ when the heart of my prayer looks for the triumph of God’s purposes over those who scheme and fight against Him to exalt their own domains…leaving it in His Righteous Hand to do the work of frustrating the devilry aimed at Him and those who trust in Him…

And the apostle Paul testifies to the glory I carry around in my life in my moment of eternity…glory which I share with him and all those in the Lineage of Faith and Promise from the moments in the ages of eternity before me and in the ages to come…

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you…Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

–2 Corinthians 4.7-12,1-6

Blessed are those for whom this glorious gospel is not veiled…Pray for those who are yet blinded by the gods of this age…

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem…

For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: ‘This is My resting place forever…I will also clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy…”

…Psalm 132.6
